We Believe...

The purpose of the Church is to glorify God by fulfilling the Great Commandmant (Matthew 22:36-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).

The sole basis of our belief is the Bible, composed of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We hold that the scriptures are infallible and inerrant in the original manuscripts and originate entirely with God. Scripture is the final authority on all matters of faith and practice, and there are no other writings similarly inspired by God.

We believe in one God, existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died a substitutionary, sacrificial death. He rose from the dead on the third day and offers salvation to sinful man through personal trusting faith. Those saved are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and become members of the true Church, the Body of Christ, until He returns for His own.

Fairview Baptist Church is autonomous and maintains the right to govern its own affairs, independent of any denominational control. Recognizing, however, the benefits of cooperation with other churches in world missions and otherwise, Fairview Baptist Church chooses to affiliate with local, state, and national Southern Baptist organizations.

The Baptist Faith and Message - The sole authority for faith and practice among Baptists is the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. What we believe as Baptists is summarized in the eighteen articles of this Statement of Faith.
